I am now offering in-person therapy services. I have been fully vaccinated. I have PPE and infection-control guidelines in place for your health and safey for in-person services. I can come to you, or we can do telehealth therapy if you are more comfortable with that. I also offer a free 30-minute phone or video consultation before beginning any evaluation or treatment.

ABOUT ME

Welcome to my website and thank you for visiting. My name is Jessica, and I am an experienced speech-language pathologist who is passionate about helping people enjoy eating safely and communicating effectively. I want you to find your soapbox because I know you have important things to say! 

I love this beautiful state of Oregon, where I was born and raised and where I still call home. I can’t imagine being anywhere else. That said, I am committed to empowering my community with the services I am qualified to provide.

EXPERIENCE

Before beginning my sole private practice, I worked in the skilled nursing/rehab setting with adults for many years, where I also served as the director of rehab for one of my buildings. I also have experience in home health, an outpatient specialty brain injury clinic, and inpatient hosptial settings, including training and filling in at a local trach/vent specialty hospital.

  • Portland State University, 2013, Master of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences

  • Voice and speech therapy for people with Parkinson’s Disease and other dysarthrias/speech disorders

  • Voice and speech therapy for people with long-term tracheostomy using or wanting to use a speaking valve

  • Swallowing therapy for people with dysphagia/swallowing disorders including education in diet texture management, exercise programs and strategies in order to eat and drink safely and to reduce the risk for aspiration (i.e. choking on or inhaling food or liquid)

  • Cognitive and communication therapy for people with acquired brain injury (i.e. stroke, TBI) and dementia
